Ich verzweifle langsam an meiner WXGA Auflösung. Ich habe mir den Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L1300 zugelegt. Der Monitor hat die Maße von 15,4 Zoll und stellt optimaler Weise 1280x800 Pixel 60Hz dar. Der Grafikchip ist onboard und es handelt sich um einen Core Logic i integriert in Intel 852GM. Ich habe es anfangs ohne Erfolg unter Linux Mandrake versucht. Nun habe ich die SuSe 9.3 Personal Version aus der c`t 13/2005 installiert und gehofft, daß SuSe keine Probleme mit dieser Auflösung hat. Ich kann auch in Yast einen 1280x800 LCD Monitor (allerdings nur mit 75Hz) wählen und der Chip wird auch erkannt. Nur leider bekomme ich, egal wie ich es auch einstelle immer nur ein 1024x768 Bild, gezerrt auf den 15,4 Monitor. Wenn ich das Bild unter SaX genauer einstellen will kann ich es auch nicht bewegen, es läßt sich nicht verkleinern und nicht vergrößern. Ich hoffe hier kann mir jemand bei der Lösung meines Problems helfen!

Hallo

Ich habe zwar eine ATI-Grafikkarte, aber ich musste auch unter SuSE 9.3 unter YAST von Hand in Auflösungen gehen und dort 1280x800 freischalten.

Hab ich auch schon versucht. Geht nicht.
Ich denke mal mit ATI hat SuSe nicht so große Probleme wie mit diesem onBoard Chip. Vielleicht gibts ja ne Möglichkeit das über eine spezielle Modline in der conf einzustellen, nur ich kenne die genauen Daten nicht. Das ist das Problem.

Den ganzen Krempl mit den Modelines braucht man meiner Erfahrung nach nicht.

Hab ich drin, läßt sich aber nicht aktivieren, und wenn ja zeigt er trotzdem nur 1024x768 an.

Bei mir läufts mit dem Intel Chip ohne Probleme. Habe die Auflösung (1280x800) gewählt und dann gings.
Notebook: AMILO M 1405

Welchen Monitor hast du genau gewählt?
Bei mir listet er in den möglichen Auflösungen auch nur 1024x768, 800x600 und 640x480 auf.... obwohl ich 1280x800 vorher aktiviert habe.

Ich versteh's nicht. Mit deiner conf geht's auch nicht.
Ich hab mir schon den neuen Intel Treiberfür den Chipsatz runtergeladen, aber der läßt sich nicht installieren:

Du hast keine Kernelkonfiguration herumliegen, eigentlich sollte unter
/lib/modules/<kernelversion>/build ein .config File rumliegen, dass zum installierten Kernel passt.
Evtl. brauchst du auch den Kernel-Source ? Was sagt das Readme des Treibers ?

Ich würde generell aber eher darauf tippen, dass dein BIOS Mist macht und den Modus einfach nicht angibt.

ja kernel sourcen hab ich schon 3 mal über yast installiert ,deswegen versteh ichs nich. aber das is ne komisch suse personal version aus der c`t ich glaube die ist ziemlich abgespeckt.

die 855resolution und 855wrap und 855patch hab ich auch schon getestet. aber nichts hilft.

ich versuch nochmal die kernel config zu finden....
