Preserve Battery M1425

Beitragvon javierly » 22.07.2005 10:49

Hi all!

I want to know what's better to do. If I want that my battery works for a long time, what should you do? I've read at the manual that it's recommended to charge battery until 50%~66% when you don't want to use it with the notebook, so I use my amilo with the charger but with the battery removed.

What do you think about? How do you preserve your battery?

Hi

We have a thread in German: topic,17,-Tipp+Akku+Lebenszeit+verlaengern.html

I'll summarize it:
  • Charge the battery in "one run".
  • Use the battery until short before the notebooks will shutdown.
  • Never try to start the notebook only with the battery after it has turned off (because of empty battery).
  • Remove the battery if not charging and if you don't need it.
  • If you don't want/have to use the battery for a longer period, charge it up to 60% and put it somewhere cool.

Aaron

With "in one run" I mean, charge the battery from e.g. 5 to 100%. It is not that important if the notebook is used at the time.
