xi2428 with integrated vga?

Beitragvon customer » 23.02.2011 19:30

Hi, sorry for the english but I don't speak german at all. I have a problem with my vga (as many others), so I open my notebook xi2428. And for my surprise there is a port on the mainboard that seems like the port that is on the vga and in wich is connected the display. It's a white one and is on the right side of the memory. Is it posible there to be a integrated vga in my xi2428?
Thanks!

Thanks homer2810, I know all about changing the card.
But I mean something else. See below the arrow which is next to memory slots. There is a white slot. There is exactly same slot on the video card, and in this slot is plugged the display cable. So there is a strange coincidence of slots in which the display cable sticking. So it may be possible to have integrated graphics. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi customer,

there´s no integrated graphics on that board. The con you mean is another PCIE for a second HDD.

Greetings

mikrobi, are you sure? It sounds strange to connect display to pcie. And my display cable is long enought to be pluged in the port I mentioned. And I plugged the cable without a problem. But I'm afraid to try it.

Believe it or not, there´s NO integrated graphics!
Never trust a dealers statement. The pm965 chipset includes no graphics -> http://ark.intel.com/chipset.aspx?familyID=28116

And yes, i´m sure  I just looked at my board to find a second hdd at the mysterious con.

mikrobi, just to be sure - please take a picture of your port. I think the hdd slot is on the oposite side of the ram slot. Thanks!!!!

It´s the PCIE port for the second hdd controller! The other (blue in your picture) one is the power supply for that hdd.

That thing is plugged there ->http://www.siemens-notebook-zubehoer.de/it-pi-n-Zweiter_HDD_Controller_fuer_Amilo_Xi_2528-cP-10_10015_69243245-pId-276007752269421124.html

PS: XI2428 and XI2528 have got the same motherboard

ITS NOT ALL TRUE the red conector is for the sec hdd and the blue is for cardreader, usb and pci-e on the little board upper left (watch from underside). u can change ur vga card but axiom is a dead slot all models are 8400gs 8600gs, hd 2300 and 2400 and a hd2600.i have installed a hd2400 not best but cheap and -1000 points in 3d mark06. for hd2400 u must mod cooler a little. if u need i can make a pic.

no my fault the red is the sec. hdd conector and the blue too both are power and data conector. the sd slot, usb and mini pci-e conector is on the backside under the red conector. sorry for that. the xi2428 have no integrated vga there is a vga axiom card.

i never try a hd2600xt in an xi2428/2528. on pic u see a differance between this 2 models. on the hd2400 is 1+2 to high for cooler so i have remove a little from cooler in this area. u have with the 2600 the same problem in the same area but the part with "R56" (4) watch very high and must be cooled so u must remove a little in this area. on 3 wach ok from level but u must watch by urself. when u see this its very easy for mod and a work from 10 min but dont forget cooling pads for 4 and 3
