Intel Core Duo T2350 heating and speed problem

Beitragvon a.n. » 09.09.2011 01:37

Hello Amilo Users,

could anyone tell me are this temperatures and speeds something that is normal:

T2350 (cooler master thermal paste applied+Notepal) temperature in

Amilo Pro V3515,
Windows XP sp3,
2x1gb Kingston RAM
Antivirus Avira

Speedfan results:
idle 54C
google chrome; 3,4 tabs 55-59C (sometimes 61)
full load 61-63C

with Intel T2080 (replaced by T2350) 1mb cache temperatures were:
idle 49C
google chrome; 3,4 tabs 51-53C
ful load 61-62C

Also, T2350 converts audio slower, renders video slower than T2080...???

Is that possible?

Regards a.

Pentium Dual Core are basically cut-down Core Duos so it's normal that they behave similar. Your temperatures are fine.
However, the drop in computing power is odd. I wouldn't expect any significant increase by exchanging a T2080 with a T2350 but there should definitely be no drop. But without clear numbers that's hard to judge. Do you have benchmark results for your notebook with the T2080? If so, please repeat that benchmark with the T2350!

hikaru, Thank You for answer!

I have really-really strange problem over here...

With M450 Amilo works slower but ok and stable,
With T2080 works faster, cooler but freezes without any reason (not so often, but enough to be annoying)!

So I decide to order T2350 (because of 2mb cache & 1,86mhz)
and I am surprised, it is slower, produces much more heat! and again before 10minutes freezing again...
I am absolutely confused
I spent 2 month trying to find specifications for compatible CPU's and I am sure that T2080 and t2350 are compatible with V3515 but...

Speedfan constantly shows that T2350 Temp1 is too high, but core0 and core1 are mostly ok.

I know,as you said that Dual Core are cut down Core Duo so I can't understand that T2350 is +5C hotter and 20%slower than T2080 in every process...

Please tell me do you want to post here Everest benchmark or to send You as message (because there are lots of information)?

Again Thank You for interest and answer

Regards, a.

p.s. here are some results

mp3 conversion (same album):
T2080 2.25 min.
T2350 2,45 min.
T450 4,12 min.

Premiere (Video only export):
T2080 2.17 min.
T2350 2,30 min.
T450 3,36 min.

at this moment: Mozzila Firefox 3tabs, Foobar, Word, Speedfan, Avira, Wireless, Notepad,

T2350 CPU temp 55-58C (fun runs randomly, I am not sure if silent mode is enabled)

Until Wednesday

Regards a.

tnx again

p.s. just one more information
Speedfan shows that my CPU temp1 is always TOO HOT (54-62C),
but core 0 and core 1 are almost always in green/good zone (44-47C, rarely above 50C)

Temp1 is the temperature of the motherboard. Since it does not get any cooling like the CPU, it absorbs the heat, and releases it, when your PC is doing the least amount of work. Therefore it is always in RED, and the other are in GREEN. I installed the SpeedFan, and I know what you mean.

Any more questions? :D

Dear thom_anderson,

I am not sure that SpeedFan temp1 stands for Motherboard...Since you can notice that temp1 rises and falls in less then second...
I also use Notebook Hardware Control to control temperatures and it show exact same temperature for CPU as SpeedFan for temp1...

Please, when You find some time try NHC and inform me am I right.

I hope that Your BIOS-mods solution is ok...

Tnx for help

Good day, a.n.

So far, there is no update from the BIOS mods group.

Concerning Temp1, I do not know for sure. That was my assumption that it is responsible for the motherboard. I searched it on google, and only found references to that.

Yeah, sure, I have tried the NHC, and here is the reading

Active Cooling Temperature 77,8°C _AC0
Passive Cooling Temperature 80,8°C _PSV
Critical Temperature 109,8°C _CRT
Actual Temperature 64,8°C _TMP
Is there anything you want me to do?

No, I just suggested You to check that SpeedFan Temp1 is same as NHC CPU temperature.

But, where did You found so many information in NHC ?

Active Cooling Temperature 77,8°C _AC0
Passive Cooling Temperature 80,8°C _PSV
Critical Temperature 109,8°C _CRT
Actual Temperature 64,8°C _TMP

Mine shows only Processor temperatures, clock and load.

Did You returned Phoenix 1.0N again?

I got the information from NHC version 2.4.3, click under the Hardware tab on information, and everything will be open to you.
No, I am on the modded BIOS. Settings are unhidden, but you cannot change any of them, I hope I could work around this somehow.

As concerning TEMP1, it is different from the CPU temperature. I compared both SpeedFan and NHC.

I am at this point unable to help you any further, as I am stuck with why your computer randomly froze, and why temperature is so high ?!

Cheers,
thom_anderson
