SD Card Reader Amilo Pro 2040 unter SuSE 10.0 läuft nicht

Beitragvon jobim2004 » 28.12.2005 16:56

lspci/Debian Sarge:

Mail von O2:

As for the Cardbus Bridge functions, these should already be supported by
your Linux distribution. The Cardbus functions are "Generic". As for the
MediaBay Accellerator function, we are currently working on a linux driver
but there is not set release date yet. We hope early 2005.

I will place you on the driver update list.

Ask O2Micro about it..... ;-)

It IS incredible, so we should all put pressure on the manufacturers!

If you find a driver, please note that here!

I assume that this driver is meant for the Cardbus Bridge (EDIT: which is the facility for PCMCIA SmartCards, but NOT MMC's) - as the O2Micro guy stated in his email, those functions are "generic".

The driver for the cardreader seems to be the one listed in lspci as "MultiMediaBay".

But I might be wrong, please correct me if a am.

(The Amilo has MMC slots and a PCMCIA slot, seemingly both by O2Micro)

Just got a reply from O2:

Code: Alles auswählen
Unfortunately we are having trouble with this driver under Linux. We
are currently evaluating changing the mode of the driver. All I can do
at this time is place you on the driver update list but I must also say
that I would not expect a driver any time soon. Maybe a couple of
months or so.

About the muscle driver, I was assuming too that i was for smartcard only, not for SD card. I'll try anyway but i really doubt ...
Anyway if i find something i'll put a feedback here.

Apologies for necro-posting, and for doing this in English.

Has anything happened after this, or is the cardreader still completely useless under Linux? What came of the "promised" driver from O2micro?
