Hello fabio an welcome to this forum :)

My english is not very good, sorry ;)

I can say only one point of the Amilo 1424, because i thing, thats not released now, is it?
I thing the Amilo 1424 has a lower graphikchip as the card in the Amilo 1425.
The Problems, which many user have with the 1425, should repaired at the 1424.

I hope, that you have understood my english ;)

Bye
Thomas

PS:
I should buy the 1425, because this Notebook has a lower price and a higher graphikchip as the 1424. Yes, many user have problems with this. But when you send the Notebook to FSC, they repaired it and then you havn't any problems with it.
I have read in the chip-Forum, that the voice from the Subwoofer isn't a Bug of the Motherboard. but only problem is hard: The Akku lost ca. 10% in 8 hours.
I can live with it, you too? ;)

M 1425 better than M 1424

Beitragvon aspettl » 17.12.2004 10:01

Hi

I'd prefer the Amilo M1425, too. According to FSC the currently for sale 1425s have a new mainboard and no "old" problems.
Amilo M1424 has been a replacement while there were problems with the 1425. Now the 1424 won't be longer produced (says FSC support), because the 1425 is better.

Thx for the anserws. The Amilo M 1424 has an ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700SE 128Mb, while the 1425?

Anyway I think its components are good and it's an offer in a shop near my house (Italy). I think it could be more difficult for me to find a 1425, so if you tell me that the 1424 is a good product i think i will buy it.

Thank you all

Hi Aaron,

thats slightly incorrect... Die M1425 has a normal Mobility 9700...

The 9700 Pro doen't exist as a Mobility-Chip...

But you're right... the Mobility 9700SE is much slower than the Mobility 9700.

I've heard that the 9700SE is even slower than the Mobility 9600.

Hi

Oh, yes - no Pro there. I've read too that the 9700 SE is slower than 9600, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks for the replies. I found in another store the 1425 at the same price of the 1424.
I think (as you said) that it's better, but do you know if the new 1425 models have the same (motherboard and other) problems as the older ones?

Hi,

FSC said, that the new 1425 models have the new motherboard. But many users said, that is the old motherboard which the same problems.
But other users said, that they havn't any problems with the 1425.
I would buy this 1425 (because the price an the higher performance) and if you aren't content, then you can take back the NB.
I think, that is the best possibility.

M 1424W

Beitragvon dro » 08.01.2005 22:19

Hi all!

I've bought the M1424W and there are no problems until know. It's a great notebook.

The system works absolutly stabil and I don't care of the few percent more graphic power. It's unconfirmed until now, if the 9700SE chip is slower than his forerunner 9600/9600Pro.

As some chiefs of development of ATI said, the 9700SE is an enhancement of the old 9600 series and doesn't depend on the 9700 chip. The M1424/M1424W notebook of FJS uses the 9700SE chip, because there are some problems manufactoring the 9700 mobile chip atm.

So they decided to reawake the "good old" 9600 chip and to administer it some new core and memory timings.

I'm not sure, if ATI will manufacture 9700 mobility chips again. We are in the age of X600/X700 mobility chips. :(

Kind regards
DRO
