Dear Fastfox!
I can't speak german (I read this forum via google translator), and it is a little bit difficult to install the drivers for me.
I hope you speak english!

The problem:
I manually installed the ethernet driver, and the new forceware driver (because I know where to install it) , but I can't install the ide and the SMbus drivers because I don't know where to install it in the device manager.
Can you help me where to install the sata-ide driver, the sataraid driver (and the raid tool? what is it good for?? ), and the smbus driver?

well,first i dont know why you are using google to translate the forum
,because when you look upwards there is a small link to go english...

second,to install the ide/sata driver you have to go to control panel->system->devicemanager
there you open atapi conroller,make a right click on each ide controller device (not the primary and secondary itself!),pointing to update driver,here you manually go to the install folder of my drivers and press ok
right after reboot you should have only two devices shown,called nvidia nforce blaaaa

for the memory devices you go same as before ,installing drivers from the smbus folder for each device.

I installed the content of sataide in both of the controller (I choosed 410/430). After reboot I see only this 2 controllesr. I think I installed it good.

But I have a few more question...

My first question
I istalled the nvraid.inf in "sataraid" directory under "SCSI and RAID Controllers". I choosed nforce raid class controller. Is it the goog place and is it the good selection?

My second question
I don't know where to install the content of smbus folder
(I think I should install it in system components/ nforce memory controller, but I am not 100% sure. And which inf should I install?? because in smbus there is nf4sys.inf and nvsmbus.inf)

And the 3. (and my last) question.
What should I do with the raid tool directory???

as by now i never tried installing the raid drivers,i decided to use the sataide directory,if the raid driver work well-why not?
is there a tool in your drivers now and are you able to make a speed check with them on the harddrive?
about the tools directory i dont bother,because i the tools are for the raid drivers...(my thought is ,we only have one drive,why using raid?)
on the third question you are right,nforce memory conroller,hypertransport and the two other nforce pci things left

Problem soloved!
I installed all of the suggested drivers (and uninstalled the raid driver. Pontless...)

I don't like the new forceware driver, because I can't overclock the gpu and the ram with it (after reboot the driver always set the freq. back to normal values...)

can you let us please know how high you Oc´ed?
with wich games do you use overclocking?

i installed nvtray (from laptopvideo2go.com)
It is a small application that put some more feature (like overlocking) in the nvidia display properties menu.

I overlocked the gpu from 450 to 540 mhz
and the ram runs at 900mhz (overlocked from 800)

The machine makes about 2150 point with 3dmark05
(with factory defaults this value is about 1900)

I 've never played games before the overlocking. So I don't know how good it was before. The only "before" test is the 3dmark test result.
But now I can play NFS Carbon with "high" display setting (in 1024x768)

hi leute!
ich habe mir nun auch das amilo pa1538 gekauft, glaube aber ein Problem mit dem Prozessor zu haben.
Wenn ich unter Eigenschaften von Arbeitsplatz gucke, zeigt er mir meistens folgendes an:

801 MHZ, 2GB RAM

manchmal aber auch

802 MHZ, 2GB RAM

und manchmal

1,6 GHZ, 2GB RAM.


Warum wechselt das ständig oder was läuft da verkehrt? Was steht da bei euch? Kann mir da jemand helfen? Hab auch schon fast alles gemacht was auf der ersten Seite im ersten Post steht. Nur den graka und mainboard treiber hab ich nicht kapiert wie man den installiert. weil beim entpacken immer Fehler entstehen!
Hat jemand eine Idee, was mit dem Prozessor sein kann?
Muss ein Dual Core mit 1,6ghz nicht 2 mal 1,6ghz Kerne haben? Oder 2 mal 800mhz??

you will not be able to see a different in benchmarking the hardware,tweaks,driver and reg settings will make good friendship between the hardware components and forcing system speed and a little bit more FPS in games,by benchmarking RAM or HD you will only get results for the hard ware and this i cant change,what i simply can is provide stable and better driver and more comfort in gaming and windows system speed....

if you want a benchmark for this u better look out for 3dmark or futuremark
but i tell u before it shows less score than speed increase...
mine is 1.5x faster in using windows (explorer,internet,programs) than delivered....

(btw after regarding your jpegs i still found an increase,you dont? )
ahmmm....everest shows only 256KB for each CPU this might be a bug but if its real the regsetting have to be 200hex rather than 400hex..

...it seems to be that no one knows the exact installed L2 Cache,it should be 1024 (2x 512)

...es sieht so aus das niemand genau weiß wieviel L2 cache im 1538 verbaut ist.es sollten 1024 (2x 512) sein.

not even on amd site or on FSC is definetly written about it..

nicht einmal auf der AMD oder FSC Seite wird sich darüber klar ausgelassen.





nach diverser suche und tests hier das erschreckende ergebnis
after research and testing here comes the unbelievable truth:

2x 256kb L2 Cache not mor not less

makes a total of 512KB to be written in registry under memory management

regrads to geriguy for pay attantion on this!!!!!
